Das "Broadcaster" ist ein Großmembran-Kondensatormikrofon mit Nierencharakteristik, welches speziell für Sprachübertragung und -aufnahmen entwickelt wurde. Als Kapsel kommt RØDEs Hi-End-Großmembran "HF-2" zum Einsatz - und zwar horizontal eingebaut, das Mikrofon wird von vorne besprochen. Unter dem Einsprechkorb befindet sich einen interner Pop-Schutz, der Explosivkonsonanten wirkungsvoll entschärft. Bei Bedarf kann noch ein sanft greifendes Hochpassfilter (75 Hz, 6 dB/Oktave) aktiviert werden, welches perfekt arbeitet, ohne die für Sprecher so wichtige Sonorität zu eliminieren.
